The Anton-Webern-Chor (= WBC) originated from the Kammerchor Frankfurt, which was managed since 1966 by Hans-Michael Beuerle. In spring 1991 the centre of activity of this professional ensemble, which changed its name to "Anton Webern Chor", was transferred to Freiburg.
The number of the ensemble members is about 12 to 24, depending upon program. The operate as a mixed and/or soloist choir. The WBC repertoire includes of works of all epochs for chamber choir and soloist ensemble. Its members are professional singers and advanced singing students, who receive regular singing training. They prepare 2 to 3 projects per year with, in each case, several concerts, broadcast and CD recordings, and make concert tours.
