Tehe Colombian tenor, Gonzalo Javier Araya Pereira, studied singing and Baroque opera at Universidad Católica de Temuco with Silvia Soublette, Patricio Méndez, and Manuel Cid.
In April 2007, Gonzalo Araya Pereira made his debut with Monostatos in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte at the Ópera Nacional de Chile in Santiago. He performed roles in The Coronation of Poppea, W.A. Mozart's Zaide, Il Trionfo dell'Onore, The Bat, La Favorita, W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro, La Traviata, Turandot, Rigoletto, Tosca, Ariadne auf Naxos, Madama Butterfly, La Gioconda, and The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny. (Teatro Colón, 2017). In 2012, he made his Argentine debut as Mime in Das Rheingold at the Teatro Argentino in La Plata. In the musical genre, he has performed Monsieur Thenardier in Les Misérables and Sancho in Man of La Mancha. |
