The German tenor, Peter Bartels, studied singing at the Lübeck Conservatory and was awarded his diploma 'with the highest honours'.
Soon after, Peter Bartels developed a strong reputation fur his excellence as an oratorio vocalist and he made many solo appearances throughout Germany. He is particularly highly regarded for his interpretation of the Evangelist in J.S. Bach's Passions. In 1984 he won the Johann Sebastian Bach Concours in Leipzig.
Peter Bartels has also sung roles in various operatic productions, making his opera debut in the title role of Benjamin Britten's The Prodigal Son.
Among the many radio and television broadcasts Peter Bartels has appeared in a performance of J.S. Bach’s St. John Passion (BWV 245) with the Holland Bach Choir. |
