The German soprano, Julia Baumeister, received her first violin lessons when she was four years old and in 1997 the first singing lessons. As a multiple award winner of "Jugend Musiziert", she began in 1999, after graduating from high school, her singing studies with Professor Renate Krahmer at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin. She participated in several master-classes, including with Kai Wessel (Cologne), Isabelle Poulenard (Paris) and in 2003 under two scholarships with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau in Wörgl (Austria) and at the Hugo-Wolf-Tagen in St. Paul (Austria). Since that year, she was also a member of the master-class of Professor Julia Varady.
In addition to concerts and Lieder recitals, Julia Baumeister was heard in numerous high school productions, including as Rosalinde in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus and as Baronin Freimann in Lortzing’s Wildschütz. At the Berlin Konzerthaus, she sang in June 2004 the soprano part in Alexander Zemlinsky's Lyric Symphony. |
