Rita Bieliauskaite (Soprano)

Born: Lithuania

The Lithuanian soprano, Rita Bieliauskaite, was born into musicians' family. At first she was educated at the Vilnius Music Academy (Lithuania). A grant of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (Germany) enabled her to continue her studies at the Karlsruhe Music Academy in Germany. As a scholar of the German Schubert Society she sang many recitals and improved her interpretation of the German lied with Hartmut Höll and Mitsuko Shirai. After that she was master class student of Halina Slonicka at the Frederic Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw.

Performing in prestigious concert series and international festivals all over Europe Rita Bieliauskaite again and again delights her audience; radio and CD records bear witness of her skills.

Although successful in opera and oratory as well, her (in the words of the press) “perfectly clear“, mellow voice and her intelligent, expressive shaping of lyrics and melody make Rita Bieliauskaite the born singer for such a fragile and demanding genre as the lied with guitar. Since 1995 she performs with Andreas Grün, recently also – presenting virtually unknown romantic pieces of the early 19th century – together with the flutist Carsten Hustedt as a trio of an exceptional, charming instrumentation.
