The Dutch soprano and choral conductor, Elisabeth van Duijn Blom, studied choral conducting at Rotterdam Conservatory with Wiecher Mandemaker and graduated with Bachlor of Arts degree in Music in 2009. She continued her study with Jos van Veldhoven at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag (Royal Conservatoire in the Hague), where she obtained her Master of Music degre in choir conducting in 2013; and with Rob Vermeulen at Utrecht Conservatory. From 2006 to 2009, she was participating in four editions of the Kurt Thomas conducting course, where she conducted professional chamber choir and orchestra. In 2014 she took the conducting master-class with the professional chamber choir Studium Chorale. As part of her vocal career, she took master-classes with Margareth Roest, Esther Putter, Connie de Jongh and Harjo Pasveer and Rita Dams. At the moment she is being coached by Hanneke de Wit.
Elisabeth Blom is conductress of the Roosevelt College Choir in Middelburg (since January 2009). In 2015, she founded The Zed Chamber Choir and The Zed Consort, both professional vocal ensembles, established in Zeeland. She has been conductor of Zeeuws Vocal Ensemble in Goes (September 2011-December 2013) and The Leiden Choristers (formerly: Ruach; since January 2000) The latter has won the competition of the national choir-festival of 2012 and was exclaimed “choir of the year 2012”, as it has won the competition both from the youth choirs and the adult choirs. For six years she has been conductress of chamber choir Ars Vocalis in Delft (January 2005-June 2011).
Elisabeth Blom performs on a regular basis as a soprano-soloist. Moreover she is employed as a singer by the professional chamber choirs Cappella Amsterdam (Director: Daniel Reuss) since January 2014; Studium Chorale Maastricht since September 2006; Laurens Collegium Rotterdam; and De Nederlandse Bachvereniging (Director: Jos van Veldhoven). She currently lives in Goch, the Netherlands. |
