The German bass-baritone, Harro Brodersen, passed the state administrative examination at the Social Security Inspectorate in Kiel in 1968 before beginning his singing studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Hamburg in 1969. In 1975 he completed his concert diploma, followed a year later by his opera diploma. During his studies he appeared as a soloist in smaller roles at the Staatsoper Hamburg and at the Eutiner Sommerspielen and was a concert singer throughout northern Germany.
From 1977 to 1981, Harro Brodersen he was engaged as a lyric baritone at the Landestheater Detmold. Since 1981 he has been a member of the chorus of the Staatsoper Hamburg as a bass-baritone. In 1964 he joined the ÖTV, in 1976 he became a member of the GDBA and spokesman for the solo department at the Landestheater Detmold. In 1981 he switched to the VdO (Vereinigung Deutscher Opern- und Tanzensembles E.V.) In 1985 he was elected to the choir board of the Staatsoper Hamburg Chor. He was a member of the works council of the Staatsoper Hamburg for four years; since 1989 he has been a VdO local delegate and since November 1993 he has been chairman of the VdO regional association North. In 1998 he was elected to the national board of the VdO, of which he has been a member ever since. |
