The Belgian baritone, Jan Carpentier, received his musical education at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, The Netherlands.
After a very successfully performed Papageno in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, conducted by Kenneth Montgomery in the conservatory opera studio, Jan Carpentier was immediately engaged at the Vlaamse Opera, where he sang Wagner in Arrigo Boito's Mefistofele, Montano in Verdi's Otello and Larkens in Puccini's Fanciulla. Next season Vlaamse Opera has engaged him to sing Farfarello in Prokofiev’s L'amour des Trois Oranges. Other roles Jan has performed are Uberto in Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's La Serva Padrona, Don Alfonso in W.A. Mozart's Così fan tutte and Malatesta in Don Pasquale.
Jan Carpentier often sings in Oratorios and appears regularly on concert and recital stages throughout Europe. |
