The American tenor and voices teacher, Matthew Clegg, obtained his Bachelor of Music degree from Southern Utah University (Class of 2012); his Master of Music degree in Voice Performance and his Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (2012-2017).
Matthew Clegg is an experienced voice teacher and active performer. As a performer, he has appeared multiple times as a soloist on the Lied Center Stage and has performed roles for UNL Opera, Opera Omaha, and the TADA Theater. Most recently, he has been a member of the Sounding Light professional choir, First Plymouth Choir, and Schola Cantorum; and through opportunities with these choirs he has performed at ACDA and NMEA conferences.
Matthew Clegg has maintained a private voice studio in Lincoln, Nebraska, where he has taught various styles of singing and general music lessons to K-12 students and adults. At the college level, he has taught at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Southeast Community College. He is Teaching Assistant at Wayne State College in Nebraska and Teaching Assistant at University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Lincoln, Nebraska. Additionally, he has worked as a vocal coach and has taught acting seminars at The Broadway Academy in Sutton, Nebraska. He has also served as the Registrar for West Central Regional NATS and co-presented research at the International Convention of Teachers of Singing in Stockholm, Sweden. He married April Clegg on June 9, 2012 and currently lives in Lincoln, Nebraska |
