The English counter-tenor, Simon R. Clulow, studied singing at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM).
Simon Clulow is based in Somerset. In a career spanning over 20 years he has performed the alto solos in all the major Baroque concert works and classical liturgical pieces. He continues to be a regular soloist with local groups. He performed the role of Orfeo in C.W. Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice at Opera Scotland (1993 & 1994). He recorded Bob Chilcott's St John Passion with Wells Cathedral Choir conducted by Matthew Owens (Hyperion, May 2014).
Recent concerts have included George Frideric Handel's Messiah and J.S. Bach's Weihnachts-Oratorium BWV 248 for Wells Cathedral Oratorio Society, H. Purcell's Come Ye Sons Of Art for City of Bath Bach Choir, J.S. Bach's Mass in B minor BWV 232 with The Beaumont Singers, J.S. Bach's Magnificat in D major BWV 243 for Millfield Festival Chorus at Wells Cathedral, Leonard Bernstein's Chichester Psalms for Thornbury Choral Society and Messiah for The Mid Somerset Singers and Chew Valley Choral Society.
Currently, he is also a Vicar Choral at Wells Cathedral and a singing teacher at Millfield Senior School and The Wells Blue School. |
