The French tenor, Davy Cornillot-Dufeu, studied at CRR de Rennes and obtained Musical Studies Diploma (DEM) in singing, piano and writing, In 2014, he obtained his Master of Music degree in singing from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse (CNSMD) de Lyon, where he had studied in the classes of Brian Parsons and Françoise Pollet.
Davy Cornillot made his debut at the Opéra de Rennes as Phœbus in The Fairy Queen by Purcell and Richard Scrop in Der Vampyr by Marschner. Later, he sang Léonato in Allessandro by George Frideric Handel at the Festival International d’Opéra Baroque de Beaune, Hadji in Lakmé by Léo Delibes at the Opéra de Rouen Haute-Normandie. With the company Les Tréteaux Lyriques Populaires he played Bastien in Bastien und Bastienne by W.A. Mozart and Ben Budge in The Beggar's Opera by Benjamin Britten. During his studies at the CNSMD de Lyon he performed the roles of Doctor Polcevera in Procedura Penale by Luciano Chailly, Tirsi in Dafne by Marco da Gagliano, Alfred in Die Fledermaus by Strauss and Paolino in Il matrimonio segreto by Cimarosa. In 2012 he addressed the comedy-ballet repertoire by playing in Monsieur de Pourceaugnac by Molière-Lully with the company Les Malins Plaisirs under the direction of François Lazarevitch. He could be heared in the same work at the Opéra de Rennes in February 2015.
Davy Cornillot sings regularly with professional ensembles such as the Ensemble Pygmalion (Director: Raphaël Pichon), Chœur de Chambre Accentus (Director: Laurence Equilbey), Ensemble Consonance, Chœur de Chambre Mélisme(s) (Director: Gildas Pungier), Les Nouveaux Caractères, Le Concerto Soave, La Main Harmonique (Director: Frédéric Bétous), Ludus Modalis (Director: Bruno Boterf), Ensemble Correspondances (Director: Sébastien Daucé)… He can also be heard in the oratorio repertoire; he performed the tenor part in Felix Mendelssohn's Te Deum at the 46th edition of the Festival de la Chaise-Dieu. In 2012 he sang the Evangelist in J.S. Bach's Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248) with the Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne. In March 2015 sang the Evangelist in J.S. Bach's St John Passion (BWV 245), a production of CNSMD de Lyon conducted by Michael Radulescu. He currently lives in Lyon, France. |
