The American soprano, Julia Carol Cosgrove, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Taylor University; and her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the New England Conservatory in Boston. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at Western Theological Seminary (since October 2024).
Although Julia Cosgrove has sung many operatic roles; she most enjoys oratorio singing. Recent appearances include J.S. Bach's Johannes-Passion BWV 245 with the Holland Bach Society, Michigan and guest performances with the Grand Rapids Symphonic Band and Holland American Legion Band. At home in oratorio singing, she has been delighted to sing George Frideric Handel's Messiah with the Zeeland Civic Chorus, Haydn’s The Creation with the Marion Philharmonic of Marion, Indiana and Johannes Brahms' Requiem with the distinguished Handel & Haydn Society of Boston.
Julia Cosgrove maintained a private studio in Boston and has previously taught at Cornerstone University, Grand Rapids Community College and Hope College. She is currently using her gifts as Director of Care Ministries at First Reformed Church in Holland. |
