Gioia Crepaldi (Soprano)

Born: 1991 -Italy

The Italian soprano, Gioia Crepaldi, started to study piano at the age of 9, then switched to singing at the age of 14. She graduated in singing at the Conservatorio Antonio Buzzolla in Adria, under the guidance of Luisa Giannini, with top marks. She has perfected her skills with internationally renowned singers such as Raina Kabaivanska, Mietta Sighele, Veriano Luchetti, Luciana D'Intino; with the maestros Massimiliano Carraro, Marco Balderi, and the directors Italo Nunziata and Francesco Esposito. In 2013-2014 she attended in the two-year solo singing program at the Conservatorio Statale di Musica F. Venezze in Rovigo and at the Accademia Vecchi-Tonelli in Modena, under the guidance of Raina Kabaivanska.

Gioia Crepaldi's recent debut was in the role of the Countess in W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro at the Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova, conducted by Johannes Wilder. She also made her debut in Puccini's La Boheme in the role of Mimì at the Teatro Sociale in Rovigo and at the Teatro dell'Opera Giocosa in Savona under the direction of Stefano Romani and in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni in the role of Donna Elvira for the National Opera of Macedonia in Skopje, conducted by Alessandro D'Agostini. She made her debut in Nino Rota's opera Il Principe Porcaro in the role of the Princess at the Teatro De Micheli in Copparo and at the Teatro Comunale in Ferrara. She performed Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's Stabat Mater in two concerts, one at the Teatro Comunale of Adria and the other in Rubano (Padua), both organized by the Conservatorio di Adria.

Gioia Crepaldi has collaborated on several occasions with the Orchestra Regionale Filarmonia Veneta. In 2007, at only 16 years old, she made her debut in W.A. Mozart's Vespri Solenni de Confessore. She participated in the II SESC International Music Festival of Pelotas (Brazil).

Gioia Crepaldi has won numerous competitions: "Special Mention" at the 4th Concorso Internazionale di Canto "Rinaldo Pelizzoni" in Parma, being the youngest participant in the competition and obtaining the opportunity to sing at the final concert; 2nd prize, “young talents” section, of the Concorso Internazionale di canto "Tommaso Traetta" held in Bitonto (Bari) in December 2009; 1st place in her category (based on age) at the 2nd Concorso Internazionale "Giovani musicisti" in Treviso and finalist at the Concorso Internazionale per Giovani Cantanti Lirici "Riccardo Zandonai" where she won the scholarship offered by the Municipality of Riva del Garda; first prize overall and the special prize “National Opera of Macedonia” at the first edition of the International Singing Competition for young opera singers “Caffarelli” held in Bitonto; first prize overall and two special prizes (Carlos Gomes prize and National Opera of Macedonia prize) at the first edition of the Concorso Lirico Internazionale "Don Salvatore Pappagallo" held in Molfetta (Bari) and the 1st prize at the Concorso Internazionale "Martinelli-Pertile" in Montagnana. In November 2014 took part in the "Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques" in Canada as the winner of the Mietta Sighele award at the 21st Riccardo Zandonai International Competition.

In September-October 2019, Gioia Crepaldi sang the role of Donna Elvira in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni at Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. In 2022, she recorded Marco Finotti's Stabat Mater and Magnificat for the Rainbow Classics label. In May 2024 she sang Cuore di Madre at Festival Biblico in Chioggia (Venice).
