Zara Dimitrova (Soprano)

Born: September 24, 1973 - Plovdiv, Bulgaria

The Bulgarian soprano, Zara Dimitrova, studied piano from the age of six and performed in concerts. She sang in the Children's Choir of the Bulgarian National Radio and TV, participating in numerous concert tour in Bulgaria and abroad. She was soloist of the Youth Choir of Orthodox Music and member of Trio of Classical Music. At age 18 she won the special prize for best interpretation at the International Festival of Orthodox Music in Hainowka (Poland). In 1992 he graduated from the National School of Ancient Languages and Culture Holy Ciryllo Philosopher in Sofia. In 1996 she graduated with honors in the singing class of Profsor Irena Brumbarova.as a lyric soprano Irena at the National Academy of Music P. Vladigherov (Sofia). She refined her singing with Al Milcheva. From 1996 se studied singing at the Conservatory G. Verdi in Milan with Profsor A. Ferrante, where in 2001 she graduated with honors in singing and in 2005 also in Chamber Vocal Music with Profsor S. Doz. In 2001 she won the scholarship S. Dragons in Milan and also the 3rd prize at the international competition Roero in musica (Vezza d'Alba). In 2002 he won the 3rd prize at the Viglianoviva (Biella). She participated in several master-classes with masters such as Opera Singing with Nina Larionova (Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow), etc.

Zara Dimitrova made her operatic debut at the Opera Burgas Theatre (Bulgaria) in the role of Gilda in Rigoletto by Verdi. She was in the cast of Henzel and Gretel by Engelbert Humperdinck as Sandmann with the Bulgarian National Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Emil Tabakov; Oscar in Ballo in maschera (Verdi); Smaraida in The woman with the golden hair (G. Kostov).

Since 1996 she lives in Italy, appearning intensively as a soloist. She has sung with the orchestras: Milano Classica, Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano, directed by Maestro Aldo Ceccato, G. Cantelli, the orchestra UECO, etc. She has given concerts at the Sala Verdi del Conservatorio di Milano, the Teatro delle Erbe di Milano for the Società dei Concerti, the Istituto Filologico, in the theatres of Bergamo, Brescia, Saronno, Chianciano Terme, Fossano, Priocca, Alba, Novi Ligure, Ponte di legno, etc.. Among the soles she has performed are: Gilda in Rigoletto by Verdi, Adina in L'Elisir d'amore by Donizetti, Carolina in Matrimonio Segreto by Cimarosa, Fanny in La cambiale di matrimonio by Rossini, Fiordispina in L’impresario in angustie by Cimarosa, etc.

She has performed in the sacred repertoire with Johannes-Passion (BWV 245), Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244) and several Bach Cantatas, Great Mass in C minor and Requiem by W.A Mozart, Petitte messe solennelle by Rossini, Cantata by Georg Philipp Telemann , Theresa Mass by Haydn, Stabat Mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi and Boccherini, etc. She has performed at the festival in Kufstein (Austria) directed by Maestro Tito Ceccherini, at Casa Verdi in Milan, for the Società dei concerti di Milano, for Ghirlanda musicale Bergamo and many others.
