The French tenor, Christophe Einhorn, obtained a gold medal of singing with the Academy of Strasbourg, in the class of Elisabeth Dillenschneider. In parallel, his higher education lead to a degree in musicology. Thereafter, he particiaped in the Studio Versailles Opéra, directed by René Jacobs and Rachel Yakar. Since then, he has perfected his singing with Ernst Haefliger, Nicolai Gedda and Scot Weir.
Christophe Einhorn made his debut on the stage in 1990 at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, in Giasone by Cavalli. He has appeared in many roles thereafter: Acis in Acis and Galatée by George Frideric Handel, Beaver in Beaver et Pollux by Rameau, Clotarco in Armida and Nencio in Infedeltà Delusa by Haydn, Gift Henrique in Les Diamants de la couronne by Auber, Gonzalve in L'Heure Espagnole by Ravel, Tanzmeister in Ariadne auf Naxos by R. Strauss, up to the most contemporary compositions, such as les Nouvelles histoires sacrées produced by l'ARCAL.
Christophe Einhorn's repertoire predilection remains however the oratorio: The Messiah by G.F. Handel, The Creation by Haydn, Elias and Lobgesang by Felix Mendelssohn. Above all he is a specialist in J.S. Bach, including oratorios, cantatas, Magnificat (BWV 243), Mass in B minor (BWV 232), and Passions which he regularly performs. After a performance of Johannes-Passion (BWV 245), the newspaper bernois der Bund, recognized him as a born Evangelist.
Christophe Einhorn has been invited to appear with numerous ensembles, including L'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Camerata Bern, Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne & Ensemble vocal de Lausanne, SWR Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart, as well as with the Festivals of Schwetzingen, the Schleswig-Holstein and Bachfest Leipzig. He has worked, inter alia, with Roy Goodman, Hervé Niquet, René Jacobs, Christophe Coin, Leopold Hager, Pierre Cao, Michael Schneider, Martin Gester, Joshua Rifkin, Helmuth Rilling, and Michel Corboz.
In February 2002, he particpated in a tour to Japan with W.A. Mozart's Requiem and J.S. Bach's Johannes-Passion (BWV 245) under the direction of Michel Corboz. Thereafter, he appeared in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte under the direction of Sigiswald Kuijken. In May 2004 he appeared at Bachfest Leipzig with Sigiswald Kuijken in a J.S. Bach & Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach programme (also documented on DVD), and in June 2004, he sang under the direction of Marc Minkowski at the Opera of Madrid.
To his credit are several radio, TV and CD recordings, including in particular: Beaver et Pollux by Rameau, Cantata BWV 78 and Messe BWV 236 by J.S.
