The Turkish soprano, Beril Yürekli El, started her piano education at a young age, got to know choral music with the Bursa Ali Cengiz Çelenk Çocuk Korosu (Children's Choir) during her primary school years, and reinforced her solfege and theory education. She studied at the Hacettepe Üniversitesi Ankara Devlet Konservatuvarı Opera Anasanat Dalı Şan Bölümünü (Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory Opera Department Singing Department) (2001-2008) and became the student of Ankara Devlet Opera ve Balesi artist tenor Beijing Kyrgyz. After completing her high school studies, she completed her undergraduate studies with soprano Nilgün Akkerman, also an artist of Ankara Devlet Opera ve Balesi, and studied stage preparation and repertoire with Fügen Yiğitgil, stage with Gürçil Çeliktaş, and musical diction with Mustafa Yurdakul. In 2003-2004 and 2005, she attended master-classes on W.A. Mozart with Professor Helge Dorsch. She received a special award in the Antique Arya Competition she attended in 2010.
During her student years, Beril El gave many concerts with orchestra and piano accompaniment. After graduating in 2008, she entered the İstanbul Devlet Opera ve Balesi in February 2009 and took part in concerts, solo roles and choirs. Some of the works and concerts in which she performed as a soloist are; French Girl in Rossini's Menu, Zübeyde in Çelebi, Giannetta in Donizetti's L'Elisir d'amore, Antonia and Fermina in Man of La Mancha, Najade in Ariadne Auf Naxos, "Fransız Gecesi" (French Night), "Sevgililer Günü Konseri" (Valentine's Day Concert), "Baroque Concert".
Beril El, who started working at the İzmir Devlet Opera ve Balesi in the 2012-2013 season, still continues to work as a soloist in Izmir. The works included here are: Antonia in Man of La Mancha, Norina in Don Pasquale, Sacerdotessa in Aida, Nefaset' in Kanlı Nigar, Mahidevran in Muhteşem Süleyman, "A Night in Paris". During the years he worked in operas, he also took part as a soloist in Bursa and Antalya Symphony Orchestra concerts. |
