The German baritone, Christian Feichtmair, studied singing with Richard Wistreich at the Institut für Alte Musik in Trossingen and with Bernd Göpfert at the Musikhochschule in Freiburg im Breisgau. He received important artistic impulses in master-classes with Peter Schreier, Siegfried Lorenz and Renato Capecchi, as well as further studies specialized in Lieder with Helmut Deutsch in Munich.
Numerous engagements at home and abroad prove his successful concert career. Christian Feichtmair works regularly with conductors like Masaaki Suzuki, Frieder Bernius, Alfredo Bernardini, Clau Scherrer and Franz Raml. He has performed with various professional orchestras and ensembles, including the Bach Collegium Japan (Director: Masaaki Suzuki), Düsseldorfer Symphoniker, Barockorchester Stuttgart, Barockorchester L'arpa festante (Munich), Barockorchester Capriccio Basel, Concerto Stella Matutina (Vorarlberg), Hassler Consort, Südwestdeutschen Philharmonie Konstanz and Ensemble Aventure from Freiburg. Engagements have taken him to the Freiburger Theater, Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspielen, Heidenheimer Opernfestspielen and Hans Werner Henzes Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte in Montepulciano/Italy. He guested at the Festival Internacional Cervantino (Mexico), Gent Flandern Festival (Belgium), Barocktagen in Stift Melk (Austria), Internationalen Bodenseefestival, Dresden's Frauenkirche and Düsseldorfer Tonhalle. He made CD, radio and television recordings in co-operation with SWR, MDR, ORF and the Bavarian television.
His special love is the Passions and cantatas of J.S. Bach and Lieder singing. Christian Feichtmair is also intensively dedicated to the vocal pedagogy, including teaching position at the Musikhochschule in Freiburg, mentor at the Vorarlberger Landeskonservatorium in Feldkirch, Austria, a teacher of singing and choral conducting at Jugendmusikschule Württembergisches Allgäu, juror at competitions Prima la musica and Jugend musiziert. |
