The German tenor, Fritz Feilhaber, received his first musical training from 1989 to 1998 in the Dresdner Kreuzchor and sang also in ensembles such as the Dresdner Kammerchor and the Rheinische Kantorei. With the vocal quintet Vocal Essence in 2002 he received a scholarship from the German Music Council. After six months in South America and staying at a one-year internship, he began in autumn 2001 studying theater dramaturgy at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig, and in 2002 his singing studies in Leipzig with Professor Hermann Christian Polster and Professor Roland Schubert; also since 2006 at the Conservatorio Statale Florence with Gianni Fabbrini and Claudia Hasslinger.
As a concert and oratorio singer Fritz Feilhaber performs in Germany, Italy and the USA. He sang at the Bach Festival and the Mendelssohn Festival in Leipzig, and worked with the Dresdner Kapellsolisten and the Thomanerchor Leipzig. Other highlights of his repertoire are Lieder recitals and opera productions such as at the Schlossfestspielen Sondershausen and Jungen Musiktheater Hamburg. |
