Born: Germany

The German baritone, Raimund Fischer, received first violin lessons when he was 10 years old. Studies of piano, composition and tuning followed. Subsequently, he studied school music and Anglistik as well as classical singing with Professor Hans Sotin at the Universität and/or Musikhochschule Köln. From 1997 to 2001 he held a scholarship for singing at the Universität of Köln.

Beside his concert activity in the areas of oratorio and Lieder (at the Berliner Philharmonie, the Kölner Philharmonie, the Beethovenhalle and the Beethovenhaus Bonn among others), Raimund Fischer has appeared as a guest at the Stadttheater Gießen and sang in various free opera productions. For the 2001-2002 season he is solo ensemble member at the Wuppertaler Opernhaus.
