The Canadian baritone and choral conductor, Simon Fournier, studied with Jan Simons at the Faculty of Music, McGill University. He was a member of the Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal and La Bande Magnétik

Simon Fournier has a career both as asinger career and choirmaster, which allowed him to perform in a variety of styles, elsewhere in Canada and in several European countries. In 2000 he made his debut in Paris with the Orchestra of the Romanian Philharmonic and in 2001 he made his debut at the Opéra de Montréal in Kopernikus by Claude Vivier Vivier, where he was noticed by critics for his powerful voice and stage presence. Also addressing the theatre, he appeared in Âmes Sœurs, a play for children presented in France and Belgium in 2005-2006. In 2009 he appeared with the SMCQ in Montpellier and Paris, where he has recorded for Radio France and where he recently returned for a concert of works by Frank Zappa.
