The American mezzo-soprano and organist and music teacher, Kristin Goodyke (Baron), graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Music Education from Hope College with an organ emphasis (May 2014). She received several academic and music scholarships that gave her the opportunity to study organ with Dr. Huw Lewis, voice with Dr. Brad Richmond, and piano with Dr. Andrew Le. During her time at Hope College, she participated in several musical performances, including the DeVos Musical Showcase, Christmas Vespers, Pillar Church Summer Organ Recital series, and the Holland Tulip Time Organ Recital series.
Kristin Goodyke is well-known in the West Michigan area for being a solo and collaborative musician in the areas of vocal and keyboard music. She began her career as the Associate Director of Music at Christ Memorial Church in Holland along with Gary Matthews (2014-2020). While accompanying the choir and coordinating a robust worship music program, she toured with the Christ Memorial Church choir and took the stage in Carnegie Hall with artist Sandy Patty in 2015. She spent several years collaborating with the choirs at Holland Christian High School as well as the Holland Chorale. She concluded her service in 2025 as the Director of the West Michigan Children’s Choir for 10 years, inspiring young musicianship, high quality performance, and friendship with the ensemble.
While serving as the Director of Operations for the Holland Bach Society, Michigan, Kristin Goodyke accompanies area students for MSBOA Solo & Ensemble, MSVMA Choral Festival, and MSVMA Solo & Ensemble. She accompanied the 2020 6-7-8-9 MSVMA SA State Honors Choir under the direction of Sarah Stockton.
Kristin Goodyke served as Organist/Choir Accompanist at First Presbyterian Church of Holland (February 2013-May 2014); She was Elementary Music/Middle School Choir Teacher at Zeeland Christian School (December 2017-July 2019). She currently serves as the Operations Coordinator and Co-Director of Music at Second Reformed Church in Zeeland (since January 2021). She married Aaron Goodyke on July 31, 2020 and currently lives in Zeeland. In whatever spare time might be found, she enjoys cooking, going to the beach in all seasons, and traveling with her husband Aaron, son Daniel, and golden retriever Ollie. |
