The German baritone, Jörg [Görg] Gottschick, was educated in Hamburg and Berlin (under Loren Driscoll, among others).
Jörg Gottschick is active primarily with concerts and oratorios in Germany and abroad. He has sung numerous premières and participated in radio and CD recordings. He has also performed in operas with the Berliner Kammeroper and the Neue Opernbühne Berlin, and at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and the Komische Oper in Berlin. He works with renowned ensembles such as the Berliner Philharmoniker, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Cleveland Orchestra, and Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, under conductors like Gerd Albrecht, Christoph von Dohnányi, Michael Tilson Thomas, Lothar Zagrosek, Philippe Herreweghe, René Jacobs, and Marcus Creed. He appears regularly at international festivals, e. g., in Dresden and Salzburg, at the BBC Proms, and the Maggio Musicale in Florence.
From 1989 to 1998 Jörg Gottschick taught at the Kirchenmusikschule Berlin-Spandau, and since 2002 at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. |
