The American soprano, Jean Evans Halliday-Boyce, Jean graduated from Granite High school in 1945. She started work the Monday after graduation for the Utah Department of Employment Security. She retired after 45 years of service.
Jean Halliday was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and held various positions in the Sunday School, Relief Society and Choir. Her favorite position was as the music coordinator for the ward. She held this position for 27 years under the direction of seven Bishops. Jean was an ordinance worker at the Jordan River Temple. She was a faithful visiting teacher for many years. She was blessed with a beautiful soprano voice, and because it was God-given, was willing to share this talent with whomever there was a need. She had the opportunity to sing at many Church functions, funerals and social gatherings, loving every minute of each opportunity.
Jean Halliday loved life and serving others. She was known for her beautiful smile which brought pleasure to all she came in contact with. She married Eugene R (Zeke) Halliday August 23, 1950 in the Logan LDS Temple. Zeke died September 30, 1997. She then married William Harold Boyce on November 14, 1998. She died on April 10, 2014, of natural causes at the age of 87. |
