The Englisg soprano, Rebecca Hardwick graduated from the University of York with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music, roles of note including Soeur Constance in Francis Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmelites and Susanna in opera scenes of W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro. She is currently studying for an Master of Music Performance at the Royal College of Music as an RCM Scholar supported by a Pidem award, receiving vocal tuition from Tim Evans-Jones. She is also generously supported by The Elmley Foundation, and The Helen Rachael Mackaness trust. At the RCM she recently played The Raver in a new opera as part of the 'Hogarth's Stages' project, called On False Perspective by Josephine Stephenson, and Semele in Cavalli’s L’Egisto for opera scenes.
Rebecca Hardwick sings in the chorus for Opera Holland Park 2012-2014, and played La Cugina in the Christine Collins Young Artists 2013 production of Puccini’s Madama Butterfly. Solo performances include the title role in George Frideric Handel's Rodelinda (Amadè Players, Foundling Museum), G.F. Handel's Messiah (St Mary's Singers, Truro Cathedral), J.S. Bach's Johannes-Passion (BWV 245) (Somerville College, Oxford), W.A. Mozart’s Requiem (Sloane Square Choral Society, St Martin's Voices). This year Rebecca appeared on a recording of Cornelius Cardew's graphic score Treatise with the Vocal Constructivists. She has recently performed in master-classes for Dame Anne Evans (RCM) and Ann Sophie Duprels (Opera Holland Park), and has performed recitals in St Botolph-Without-Aldgate and St Mary's Battersea. |
