The American tenor, Seth P. Hartwell, obtained his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Valparaiso University, Indiana; and his Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of New Mexico. He is also an alum of the Lutheran Summer Music Program (LSM 1996, 1997, Intern 1999, 2000, Counselor 2002, 2003, 2005, Dean 2004).
Seth Hartwell comes to Minnesota with a wide variety of opera, oratoria, and teaching experience. He has performed Baroque oratorios with such groups as VocalEssence, Santa Fe Pro Musica, New Mexico Bach Society, New Mexico Philharmonic, and the Valparaiso University Chorale under the baton of world-renowned Bach scholar Helmuth Rilling. He has also appeared with The Santa Fe Opera, Opera Southwest, Desert Chorale II, Quintessence: Choral Artists of the Southwest, Polyphony Voices of New Mexico, and the Royal Norwegian Opera.
Seth Hartwell served as the Music Director of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Albuquerque. Currently, he serves as the Director of Worship & Music at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Minneapolis, and is an active tenor soloist and chorister. He maintains a private voice studio. As a music educator, he has taught students of all ages and is passionate about making singing healthy and fun. He lives in the Twin Cities with his wife Liz (whom he met at LSM) and their two children, two cats, and a golden retriever. |
