The Australian mezzo-soprano, Alexandra Hebart, studied singing with Katharina Dau in Mannheim and graduated with the highest grade. She received additional inspiration from master-classes with Anna Reynolds, Klesie Kelly, Hedwig Fassbender, Helmut Deutsch, Peter Nelson and Lani Poulson; she took acting lessons with Jutta Hamm. While she was still studying, she was awarded a scholarship by the Bayreuther Richard-Wagner-Verbands. She has also won several prizes.
Alexandra Hebart has sung numerous roles in her field on independent stages in Germany and Switzerland (e.g. Offenbach's Muse/Nicklausse, Rossini's Cenerentola, Engelbert Humperdinck's Hänsel or Strauss's Composer) and is considered a "brilliant actress" according to press reviews. Nevertheless, her heart beats particularly for oratorio and Lieder singing. In the concert field, she is just as at home with Monteverdi as with J.S. Bach, L.v. Beethoven, Gustav Mahler or in contemporary music. Solo performances have taken her to many cities in Europe and to Australia. She has performed with well-known ensembles such as the Zürcher Vokalisten, the Gächinger Kantorei Stuttgart (Directors: Helmuth Rilling & Hans-Christoph Rademann), Bochumer Symphoniker and Baden-Badener Philharmonie, as well as in a song duo with the pianists Mariko Eckerle and Judit Polgar. She is also a member of NDR Vokalensemble (since September 2015). After a Lieder recital in Bayreuth, she was enthusiastically celebrated by the reviewer as a "master of Lieder singing". |
