The German baritone, Stephen Heinemann, received his musical training in Stadtsingechor Halle, where he remained until graduation. He studied singing and vocal pedagogy with Professor Hermann Christian Polster at the Musikhochschule "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig. After graduation he continued his singing studies as a private student of Kammersänger Professor Siegfried Lorenz in Berlin.
The artistic work of Stephen Heinemann covers oratorio and Lieder singing. His repertoire includes the major oratorios of the 18th and 19th Centuries, with a special emphasis on the works of J.S. Bach and George Frideric Handel, a special emphasis. He has performed Lieder cycles of Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms, Francis Poulenc and others with Leonard Hokanson and other accompanists.
As a sought after concert singer, Stephan Heinemann has performed with the Thomanerchor Leipzig, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Monteverdi-Chor Hamburg Philharmonischen Staatsorchester Halle and Kammerorchester Basel, among others. He is a regular at renowned festivals such as the Händel-Festspielen Halle, Bachfest Leipzig, Musikfestspielen Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Telemann-Tagen Magdeburg. Concert tours have taken him to Norway, Estonia, Italy, France and the USA.
In addition to his concert career, Stephen Heinemann is working as a singing teacher with the Thomanerchor Leipzig, and since September 2008, at Berufsfachschule für Musik Oberfranken in
