The Belgian coloratura soprano, Camille Hubert, discovered at age 17 the world of opera and entered the Conservatoire de Namur in Belgium (2012-2019). She quickly took on a series of projects, notably in the Académie des Chœurs de l'Opéra Royal de la Monnaie (January 2015-April 2019) and on numerous stages in Brussels and abroad. The young singer thus trained under the baton of great names in the world of opera such as Leonardo García-Alarcón, Alain Altinoglu, Michel Plasson, Christophe Rousset, etc.
Camille Hubert regularly performs with the Choeur de Chambre de Namur (Director: Jean Tubéry) as a soloist (November 2017-July 2019; Festival International d'Opéra Baroque et Romantique de Beaune: July 2019) or in choir and in opera productions on stages such as the Opéra Bastille (Rameau: Les Indes Galantes, September 2019, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées or Opéra de Dijon (J.S. Bach: Mass in B minor BWV 232, December 2018). She is also a member of Vox Luminis (Director: Lionel Meunier) and the Vlaams Radio Koor (Director: Hervé Niquet), with whom she has participated in numerous tours and recordings, as well as the Ensemble Vocal de Lausanne, B'Rock, Swara, etc.
Camille Hubert made her stage debut in the role of the Queen of the Night in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte at the Chapelle Reine Elizabeth in December 2016 and won the vocation prize at the Ans competition as well as 2nd prize at the Bell’Arte competition that same year. She was also a semi-finalist at the Musica Sacra competition in Rome in 2020.
In terms of solo concerts, Camille Hubert thrives in the sacred Baroque repertoire, notably with François Couperin's Leçons de Ténèbres, which she recorded with Musiq3 in 2020.
In 2023, Camille Hubert founded the In Situ ensemble, an a cappella vocal octet. The group, made up of young singers based mainly in Belgium, gave its first two concerts in December 2023 and will be on the bill for the Orferidis festival in September 2024 and on the stage of the small theatre of the Château de Chimay in December 2024. |
