The American bass, Keith Hutchison, grew up singing in church and school choirs in Connecticut. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Bacteriology from the University of Connecticut (1965-1969); and his Ph.D. in Bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1969-1974)
Keith Hutchison was Board member of Bagaduce Chorale (May 2006-June 2013). He joined the Blue Hill Bach as a member of the local chorus in 2014, the same year he placed first in the Avocational Division of the annual Maine NATS vocal competition. He also sings at the University of Maine with the Black Bear Men’s Chorus, and the Oratorio Society and locally with the Bagaduce Chorale. He has also studied, taught, choreographed and performed ballet with his wife, Lucy Rowe. When not singing, he is President of the Blue Hill Bach Board of Directors (since December 2015), and is an emeritus faculty member at the University of Maine/Orono (since September 1984), where he taught Molecular Genetics.
