The German mezzo-soprano, Regine Köbler, received her singing training at the there Hochschule für Musik in Leipzig with Kammersängerin Professor Christa Nowak.
After finishing her studies, Regine Köbler was engaged from 1984 to 1987 at the Volkstheater Halberstadt, before beginning in 1987 her engagement at the Opernhaus Chemnitz. Guest appearances have led her to the Opernhaus Halle, the Eduard-v.-Winterstein-Theater Annaberg, the Theater der Stadt Gera, the Oper Leipzig, the Staatsoper Dreden, and the Landestheater Linz, as well as Las Palmas of Gran Canaria, Rimini, Salvador, New York and Tel Aviv.
Regine Köbler's most important roles include Magdalene (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg), Nancy (Martha), Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel), Niklas/Muse (Hoffmanns Erzählungen), Baronin von Grünwiesel (Der Junge Lord), Witwe Begbick (Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny), 3rd Dame (Die Zauberflöte), Dorabella (Cosí fan tutte), Frau Reich (Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor), Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus), Octavian (Rosenkavalier), Maddalena (Rigoletto), Suzuki (Madame Butterfly). Beyond that she has also a very extensive concert repertoire.
In 2004-2005 season Regine Köbler sang in Chemnitz roles as Mary in Der fliegende Holländer, Annina in Der Rosenkavalier, Olga in Eugen Onegin, Erda in Das Rheingold, Floßhilde in Das Rheingold and Götterdämmerung, Minerva in Orpheus in der Unterwelt and Martha in Evangelimann. |
