The German-born soprano, Maria Köpcke, studied at Marie-Curie-Oberschule in Berlin, and at the University of the Arts Bremen (1998- ).
Maria Köpcke has a special interest in the German Baroque repertoire, the George Frideric Handel oratorios and renaissance madrigals, and particularly enjoys one-a-part chamber singing. She is a regular member of some leading chamber choirs: Collegium Vocale Gent (Director: Philippe Herreweghe) since 2003, Cappella Amsterdam (Director: Daniel Reuss) since 2005, and Divertimento Vocale, amongst others. She is frequently engaged as a soloist, especially in her homeland, in works by J.S. Bach, G.F. Handel and Monteverdi. She was involved in the successful and long-running production of Purcell's Dido and Aeneas with Vocalconsort Berlin. She currently lives Utrecht, the Netherlands. |
