The German counter-tenor, Kaspar Kröner, first studied viola at the Hochschule für Musik 'Hanns Eisler' in Berlin. After discovering his alto voice he was supported by Scot Weir, Stewart Emerson and Wolfram Rieger in the first steps in singing as a counter-tenor, at the same academy. In order to specialize in the authentic approach towards 'early' music he continued his studies at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague working with Michael Chance, Peter Kooy, Jill Feldman, Rita Dams and Diane Forlano. In addition he attended master-classes given by musicians as Helmuth Rilling, Barbara Schlick, Jeffrey Gall, Stephen Stubbs, Hilliard Ensemble, Thomas Quasthoff and Jard van Nes.

On the opera stage he performed characters like Arsamene in Xerxes, Medoro in Orlando and Tolomeo in G. Cesare by George Frideric Handel and Apollo in Apollo & Hyazinth by W.A. Mozart. He worked with conductors like Ton Koopman, Daniel Reuss, Pablo Heras Casado, Risto Joost, Paul van Nevel, Mike Fentross, Jörg-Peter Weigle, Richard van Schoor and Hermann Bäumer.

As a recipient of a scholarship from the 'Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes' and the 'Förderpreis der Musikakademie Rheinsberg' he was engaged in several productions of contemporary music including world premières written specially for him. In october 2015, he performed the world premiere of Die Klage um Linos by Astrid Kruisselbrink together with ASKO | Schönberg Ensemble and Reinbert de Leeuw.
