The French counter-tenor, Nicolas Kuntzelmann, studied opera singing at the Conservatoire d'Annecy in the class of Eva Kiss; then he continued his training as a professional singer by specializing in early music. At the age of 20, he entered the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse (CNSMD) de Lyon in the early music singing class of Robert Expert and Anne Delafosse (2017-2022). In 2019, at the initiative of Benjamin Delale, he participated in the creation of the ensemble La Camerata Chromatica. In 2021 he won the 3rd prize in the International Baroque Singing Competition in Froville.
In recent years, Nicolas Kuntzelmann has sung under the direction of renowned conductors such as Paul Agnew, William Christie, Raphaël Pichon, Sebastien Daucé, Stephan MacLeod, François-Xavier Roth, Ludwig Wicki and Leonard Slatkin. He regularly performs with early music ensembles (Concerto Soave, La Chapelle Harmonique (Director: Valentin Tournet), Alkymia, Suonare e Cantare), and as a choir member and soloist both with the Les Arts Florissants ensemble and the Spirito choir directed by Nicole Corti. |
