The German soprano, Meike Leluschko, received clarinet, piano and organ lessons from an early age. She studied singing privately with Edeltraud Blanke and at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold with Professor Gerhild Romberger and Professor Heiner Eckels. She completed her singing studies in 2006 with a graduate recital. Among her most important teachers was also Caroline Stein. Master-classes and studies with, among others, Ute Trekel-Burkhardt, Ralf Popken, Ingrid Figur, Christoph Prégardien and András Schiff proved to be particularly inspiring. She won a prize at the Federal Competition Berlin in 2002 and First Prize of the NRW German Musicians Association. She won scholarship of the Werner Richard - Dr. Carl Dörken Foundation (2007), the Mozart Society and the Bertelsmann Foundation "New Voices" for a master-class (2007).
In the summer of 2008. Meike Leluschko appeared as a guest at the Landestheater Detmold and was engaged at at the Theater Bielefeld; she sang several roles, including Musetta in La Boheme and Zerlina in Don Giovanni. Since 1998, she leads an active concert career with a broad repertoire from the Baroque to the present, and has performed as at the Festspielhaus in Salzburg. Her lyrical voice has a lovely timbre and shows supreme control. It seems destined for Baroque and Classical music, which happens to be the focus of her repertoire. Meike Leluschko has a preference for the lied genre, for chamber-music projects and for contemporary works.
Previous engagements include concerst and recitals at the Prinzregententheater in Munich, the Thomaskirche Leipzig, the State Opera in Berlin (Apollo Hall), the Markgräfliches Opernhaus (Bayreuth Easter Festival), the Großes Festspielhaus in Salzburg, the Konzerthaus Dortmund, the Radialsystem in Berlin (with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin), the church of St. Roch in Paris, the Beethovenhaus in Bonn, the NDR Rundfunkhaus and the State Opera Hanover among other venues. The young soprano has been invited to international festivals, such as the European Music Festival in Stuttgart, the Rheingau Musik Festival, the Augsburger Mozartfest, the Oldenburger Promenade, the Brühler Schlosskonzerte and the Oberstdorfer Musiksommer.
Meike Leluschko has given concerts with the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester, La Stravaganza Köln, Accademia per Musica Roma, Bach-Collegium Stuttgart, Barockorchester L'Arco Hannover, Bochumer Symphoniker, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Neue Philharmonie Westfalen, Neumeyer Consort, Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie and Philharmonie Südwestfalen.
In the last season, Meike Leluschko was invited once again by András Schiff to perform with his Cappella Andrea Barca (Schubert: Mass in E flat major) in Vicenza. She gave several performances of the project “Szenen einer Ehe” (Scenes of a Marriage) at the Prinzregententheater in Munich and also sang in George Frideric Handel’s Israel in Egypt in the Philharmonie Köln with the Bach-Verein Köln conducted by Thomas Neuhoff. In addition, she sang at the New Year’s Reception of the Mädchenchor Hannover at the State Opera in Hannover. |
