Heidrun Luchterhandt (Soprano)

Born: Germany

The German soprano, Heidrun Luchterhandt, received her singing training with Carl-Heinz Müller (Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover), Helmut Kretschmar (Hochschule für Musik Detmold), as well as many master-classes, with Kurt Widmer, Judith Beckmann and Emma Kirkby among others.

Heidrun Luchterhandt's extensive repertoire reaches intensive experiences from the Baroque to the modern times and covers the big oratorio works of Monteverdi, J.S. Bach, George Frideric Handel, Mozart, Haydn, Felix Mendelssohn, Johannes Brahms, Dvorák, and Arthur Honegger among others. Within the range of Baroque performance practice she has co-operated for many years with renowned Baroque orchestras from Germany, Holland, Belgium and England as well as with vocal ensembles such as Viva Voce, Cantus Cölln and Weser Renaissance.

Concert tours led journeys led Heidrun Luchterhandt to Albania, Australia, Belgium, France, UK, Israel, Japan, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Poland and Slovenia. She participated in numerous broadcast and CD productions.

For many years Heidrun Luchterhandt is active also as singing teacher (1991-1997 at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover, since 2000 at the Hochschule für Kirchenmusik in Heidelberg). Among the singers who have studied with her and/or attended her master-classes: Carmen Buchert (Soprano), Anna Padalko (Mezzo-soprano).

Beside the oratorio repertoire her special love applies for the Lieder and the chamber music. Thus a CD recording with romantic and contemporary works for soprano, flute and harp with the ensemble Con Voce was published by Thorofon.
