The American tenor, Morgan Mastrangelo, obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in Voice and Opera from Northwestern University's Bienen School of Music (2016-2020), under the instruction of soprano Pamela Hinchman. He also earned a certificate in Musical Theatre from the School of Communications. He is a Metropolitan Opera National Council Encouragement award winner.
Morgan Mastrangelo is currently based in Manhattan. In summer 2022, he joined Opera Saratoga as a festival artist, where he covered Count Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia (2022), sang the tenor solo in Rossini’s Petit Messe Solenelle (2022), as well as the role of Tobias in Sweeney Todd at the Saratoga Performing Arts center (2022), opposite Broadway star Carolee Carmello. Recent appearances on the concert stage include the tenor solos in Verdi’s Requiem with the choir of Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church (2022) and George Frideric Handel's Messiah with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic Orchestra (2021). In addition to his solo vocal work, he has appeared with various ensembles on some of New York’s most distinguished stages, including Carnegie Hall (American Symphony Orchestra), Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center (American Classical Orchestra), and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine (Early Music New York). In October 2022, he sang the tenor solo in J.S. Bach's Cantata BWV 182, with Bach in Baltimore (2022); and in December 2022, he sang J.S. Bach's Magnificat in D major, BWV 243 with Bach Vespers at Holy Trinity. |
