The Chilean soprano, Daniela Matamala, began her vocal studies at the Instituto de Música de Santiago, now the Instituto de Música de la Universidad Alberto Hurtado, from which she graduated in 2015. She also worked with Sylvia Soublette, with whom she honed her skills in the interpretation of historically informed early and Baroque music.
Daniela Matamala has developed her career primarily in chamber music (since March 2019), with an emphasis on Baroque and modern repertoire. She has performed in various venues, such as the Teatro del Lago de Frutillar, Teatro Regional de Rancagua, and Teatro Regional del Maule, where she sang in opera productions with the Coro Nuevo Mundo and the Ensamble Íkaros. Their operatic repertoire highlights include the Chilean premiere of Monteverdi's L’Incoronazzione di Poppea and the world premiere of Guillermo Eisner's La isla de los peces 2015). |
