The Hong Kong Chinese soprano, Athene Mok, received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. She is a first-year graduate student at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York under the tutelage of Professor Katherine Ciesinski. Over the years, she has received various scholarships. Last May (2013), she was selected to sing in a master-class conducted by Renée Fleming in her hometown.
Her main appearances in operas include Despina in W.A. Mozart's Cosi fan Tutte, Valletto in L’incoronazione di Poppea, Hermia in Benjamin Britten's A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Pepík in The Cunning Little Vixen. In 2013-2014 season, she made her debut with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. |
