The Cuban-American mezzo-soprano, Madelin Morales, studies for her Bachelor of Music degree with Business minor in the studio of Kathryn Cowdrick at the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester (since August 2019; expected graduation: 2023). She is also an Arts Leadership Certificate Candidate. Recent operatic roles include: Mercédès in Georges Bizet's Carmen, Oberto in George Frideric Handel's Alcina, and Taller Daughter (Proving Up). In spring 2023, she will sing Paula in EOT's production of Daniel Catán's Florencia en el Amazonas. She is a 2022 Ornest Award recipient, awarded for excellence in academic and musical study at Eastman. She is also a 2019 U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts. In summer 2023, she will attend Music Academy of the West as a Lehrer Fellow. |
