The French tenor, Jordan Mouaïssia, studied music in Montpellier before moving to Paris, where he studied at the Jacques Ibert Conservatory and later joined the Maîtrise de Notre-Dame de Paris, where he was a student of Rosa Domínguez. He is a laureate of the Royaumont Foundation and the Froville competition (2023), where he won three awards: the Audience Award, the Génération Opéra Award, and the Gemelli Factory Award. During seasons 2023-2024 and 2024-2025, he was a member of the ARCAL young opera troupe and the Studio of the Ensemble Il Caravaggio, directed by Camille Delaforge. This has allowed him to participate in numerous stage productions and concert series.
On stage, Jordan Mouaïssia sang Un Pastore in L’Orfeo (Ensemble I Gemelli, conducted by Emiliano Gonzalez-Toro) and Iro in Monteverdi’s Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria (staged by Mariame Clément at Royaumont). He also performed as Un Pastore and Vistola Fiume in Caccini's La Liberazione di Ruggiero dall’isola d’Alcina (with I Gemelli in Versailles, at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, in Ambronay, at the Capitole in Toulouse, and in Lausanne), and Gernando in Haydn's L’Isola Disabitata (Festival 12x12 in Paris). He participated in the re-creation of the 17th-century English "mask" Cupid and Death with the Ensemble Correspondances (Director: Sébastien Daucé) (in Meudon and at the Théâtre de Cornouailles). He also sang Ferrando in W.A. Mozart's Così Fan Tutte (Caylus Festival), a Musician in Campra's Le Carnaval de Venise (on tour in France with La Co[opéra]tive), and the role of Panatellas in La Périchole (Bayonne).
In concert, Jordan Mouaïssia performed the role of the Christ in W.A. Mozart's Die Schuldigkeit des ersten Gebots (Versailles, Saint Denis Festival, Bremen) and Le Reniement de Saint Pierre by Charpentier (Saintes) with the Ensemble Il Caravaggio. He also sang the solo tenor parts in Monteverdi's Vespers with the Ensemble I Gemelli (Aix-en-Provence Easter Festival, Palau de la Música in Barcelona, Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville), J.S. Bach's Matthäus-Passion BWV 244 (Notre-Dame), George Frideric Handel's Messiah (American Church in Paris), and W.A. Mozart's Requiem (Sunday Morning Concerts at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées).
His discography includes Yves Castagnet's Magnificat, W.A. Mozart's Die Schuldigkeit des ersten Gebots, Monteverdi's Vespers, and Caccini's Alcina.
During the 2025-2026 season, Jordan Mouaïssia takes over Die Schuldigkeit des ersten Gebots in Ambronay and Yves Castagnet's Magnificat in Saarbrücken. With the Ensemble Correspondances, he participates in a Rameau Gala in Caen and Nancy, sings a selection of J.S. Bach's Cantatas in Gdansk and Paris, and performs a program titled "Amorous Fragments," featuring works by Lully, in Madrid and Versailles. He will also sing Couperin's Leçons de Ténèbres with the Ensemble Les Paladins, conducted by Jérôme Corréas, at the Pontoise Festival and reprise Monteverdi's Vespers in Bilbao with I Gemelli. |
