The German soprano, Johanna Neß, began her musical training with piano lessons, worked as a pianist and was a prize winner at the National competition "Jugend musiziert". In 2003 she received singing lessons and discovered early on her love of early music. So she began her singing studies by attending master-classes of the Swedish soprano Susanne Rydén. In October 2007, she began her singing studies with Professor Barbara Schlick at the Hochschule für Musik Köln, Standort Wuppertal and continued them in the winter semester of 2009-2010 with Professor Kai Wessel in Cologne.
Johanna Neß’ operatic debut was in 2007-2008 at the Theater Ulm as Oberto in George Frideric Handel's Alcina, and in summer 2008 she received scholarship from the Richard-Wagner-Verbands Wuppertal. She performs regularly music from the Renaissance to modern times in concerts and in festivals, including, in 2011, at the International Internationalen Händel-Festspielen Göttingen under the baton of Nicholas McGegan.
Johanna Neß has worked since February 2011 with the Wuppertaler Kurrende as the vocal coach for the bass singers. |
