Thge Dutch soprano, Mariëtte [Mariette] Oelderik, studied at the Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam with Lucia Meeuwsen and Marianne Blok.
Mariëtte Oelderik's her already performed repertoire includes the soprano parts in Antonio Vivaldi's Gloria, George Frideric Handel's Messiah, J.S. Bach's Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244), Johannes Brahms' 'Deutsches Requiem and the Requiems by W.A. Mozart and Verdi. She is highly interested in contemporary music. She regularly performs with ensembles or as a soloist, music by Dutch composers. The combination of modern poetry and music brought her to perform works by Antoine Oomen (CD, October 2001), Polo de Haas and Jeff Hamburg.
Mariëtte Oelderik made her operatic debut with the role of Liù in Puccini's Turandot. Then followed the role of Dido in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, Euridice in Gluck's Orfeo and Violetta in La Traviata. Really special is her interpretation (on CD) of Anne Martha Cantate by Algimantas Brazinskas, written in honour of the birth of her daughter Anne Martha.
Mariëtte Oelderik is also a member of the vocal ensemble Quink and female vocal quartet Amadea and sings in the Groot Omroepkoor, Koor van de Nederlandse Opera and Cappella Amsterdam. |
