The German bass, Thomas Ogilvie, studied with Kammersängerin Ilse Hollweg at the Alanus-Hochschule in Bonn, then with Josef Loibl and Raimund Grumbach. In 2000 he won the international singing competition in the areas of opera, concert and Lied in Weimar. In the same year he won the "Grand Prix" of the Torneo Internazionale di Musica in Italy.
Thomas Ogilvie began his career as a soloist at the Südostbayerischen Städtetheater. Since then he has been a guest at various opera houses and festivals in Germany and abroad. As a sought after concert singer his repertoire includes all the known sacred works of different musical eras.
Thomas Ogilvie has also worked successfully as a singing teacher. He regularly holds master-classes for singing at the Europa-Akademie in Schloss Isny. |
