The French soprano, Edwige Parat, sang at age 17 with the Maîtrise de Radio- France. She studied musicology, piano, and in 1994 joined the Maîtrise de Notre-Dame de Paris. In 1998, she obtained 1st Prize of lyric art at the Conservatoire National Régional (CNR) of Paris and the State Diploma for direction of vocal ensembles.
Edwige Parat's light soprano voice allows her to interpret particularly Monteverdi (the nymph in Orfeo in with ARCAL in 1998), Carpenter (several recordings with Les Demoiselles de St-Cyr) and Offenbach (Gabrielle in La Vie Parisienne, Fleurette in Barbe-Bleue and the title role of Geneviève de Brabant at the Théâtre de l’Athénée in Paris).
Edwige Parat has sung with the Orchestre National de Lille (Giovanni Battista Pergolesi and Felix Mendelssohn) and participated as soloist in several recordings for Radio France and Musicatreize contemporary music (G. Amy, M. Ohana, I. Xenakis...). She sang the cycle The Poet's Echo Op.76 by Benjamin Britten for Radio France.
Finally, Edwige Parat is requested by prestigious vocal ensembles such as Chœur de Chambre Accentus (Director: Laurence Equilbey), Akadêmia Ensemble (Director: Françoise Lasserre), Arsys Bourgogne (Director: Pierre Cao) (she sang pie jesu by Gabriel Fauré with the Orchestre national d’ile de France) and Vivete Felici (on tour with Dixit Dominus by George Frideric Handel). |
