The French tenor, Pierre Perny, began singing by participating in several choirs in Toulouse. Alongside of Anthropology studies, he was with the Ensemble Baroque de Toulouse under the direction of Michel Brun, made his first steps as a soloist in 2005 and decided to make the singing his main occupation. In 2006, he enrolled at the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles, where he developed his vocal technique with Julie Hassler and Isabelle Desrochers. He obtained his Diploma of Musical Studies, specializing in Baroque singing, in 2010. He had the opportunity to perform very often in concert under the direction of Olivier Schneebeli and guest conductors in prestigious venues and festivals in France and abroad.
Since the end of his studies Pierre Perny sang with Le Concert Spirituel (Director: Hervé Niquet), with Chœur de Chambre Accentus (Director: Laurence Equilbey) with Les Talens Lyriques (Director: Christophe Rousset), together Ensemble Antiphona (Director: Rolandas Muleika), with Scandicus group, with Sagittarius (Director: Michel Laplénie), with Ensemble Divona (Director: Albertus Dercksen), with Ensemble Chronochromie (Director: Jean-Michel Hasler), with Voce Tolosa (Director: Olivier Perny), with the group Solistes XXI (Director: Rachid Safir). He works regularly in Switzerland with La Cappella Genevensis (Director: Claude Xavier Hollenstein) and with the Académie Bach de Porrentruy (Director: Michael Radulescu).
Pierre Perny participated in several record productions: "200 ans de Musiques à Versailles" (MBF), " Trois hiérodrames" by Henri-Joseph Rigel and "Grands Motets" by Pierre Robert, with Les Pages and singers of the Chantres du Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles (K 617). " Quam pulchra es, Messe et Motets" by Dominique Phinot, with Scandicus group and A Sei Voci (Arion). "Renaud" by Antonio Sacchini, with Les Talens Lyriques, "Andromache" by d’André-Ernest-Modeste Grétry, and "Les Fêtes de l'Hymen et de l'Amour" by Jean-Philippe Rameau, with Le Concert Spiritual (Glossa).
