Serena Peroni (Soprano, Choral Conductor)

Born: 1999 - Italy

The Italian choral conductor, soprano singer and pianist, Serena Peroni, graduated in choral conducting from the all'Accademia "P. Righele" with Maestro Alessandro Kirschner (Class of 2017) and received a postgraduate diploma from the Accademia Corale Italiana. She has attended master-classes with internationally renowned teachers: D. Tabbia, L. Marzola, F. Barchi, M. Lanaro, L. Golino, M. Da Rold, L. Donati, R. Rasmussen, Ursa Lah, P. Broadbent, and others. She graduated with honors from the three-year academic program in piano (Class of 2022) and the two-year program in Renaissance and Baroque singing at the Conservatorio "A. Pedrollo" in Vicenza (Class of 2024), under the guidance of Maestro Marco Tezza and Maestro Marco Scavazza, respectively. She is completing a two-year program in ensemble music for voices and ancient instruments (since November 2023) with a thesis on collective vocal improvisation from early styles to more modern and folkloristic ones, and is also studying jazz singing.

Serena Peroni frequently sings in ensembles, early music groups, and as a soloist. She was selected as a soprano for the 2018 edition of Eurochoir (European Youth Choir), conducted by Mikko Sidoroff and Maria Van Nieukerken, held in Helsinki and Tallinn, and in 2021 in Ljubljana with conductors Bernie Scherlock and Yuval Weinberg. In 2019, she was a member of the Coro Giovanile Italiano (March-October 2019), directed by L. Marzola and C. Pavese, and currently sings with the Revoice International Ensemble. She was a member of the World Youth Choir 2025, directed by Daniel Reuss.

Since its founding in 2018, Serena Peroni e has been the Artistic Director of the Iter Novum vocal group in Trissino (VI), with which she performs extensively. With this group, in 2022, she won the award for best conductor at the Concorso Nazionale G. Savani di Carpi. She is also the Artistic Director of the Iter Novum children's choir (since June 2018), which she founded in 2019, and which won the Silver Band and the special prize "for the pedagogical work she has carried out with her musical group" at the XXXI Concorso Internazionale di Canto Corale di Verona. Since October 2021, she has also directed the female ensemble La Rose di Piovene Rocchette, with which she won first prize at the 39° Concorso Polifonico Nazionale Guido d'Arezzo and, as director, the special prize "Paul, in memoria di Maria Teresa" for "the high artistic and interpretative quality". She won first prize and the youngest finalist award at Concorso Nazionale per Direttori di Coro Le mani in Arezzo (2022). She recently won second prize in the youth choir conductors category at the 4th Aegis Carminis International Competition (Koper, Slovenia), as well as the award for "a well-considered pedagogical approach to the choir" and the St. Angela Childrens' Choir award, received from Maestro Roni Sugiarto: a concert to be held in Bandung, Indonesia, in 2027, as guest conductor.

Serena Peroni leads choral singing workshops in schools, from elementary to high school, and is frequently invited as a vocalist in association choirs. She is also a member of the artistic committee of ASAC Veneto.
