The Italian bass, Giannicola Pigliucci, graduated from National Academy of Santa Cecilia and University of Rome. He started his world-wide career after he was awarded the first place of "The 76th Spoleto Concours".
Giannicola Pigliucci started his professional career with Cosi Fan Tutte and The Secret Marriage in Spoleto. Soon he was invited by opera houses of Rome, Scala in Milan, Napoli, and other theaters, and he was selected as the title role. He manages, with his beautiful voice and decent looks, 80 repertoire roles, ranging from opera to oratorio, and from Verdi to Perillo. He performed with many conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Lorin Maazel, Capuana, Pretre, and Gurgiev, and performed with singers such as Del Monaco, Vickers, Carreras, and Pavarotti.
Giannicola Pigliucci is the Guest Professor of Tokyo Academy of Arts and Music, the lecturer of Kunitachi Music Academy Postgraduate School opera department, and the School of New National Theatre Tokyo. |
