The Spanish tenor, José Pizarro, studied singing with Jordi Albareda at the Conservatory of Badalona. Later took master-classes with Aldo Baldin, Ingeborg Danz and Diane Forlano.
José Pizarro currently works for the Ópera de Flandes (Belgium) and various ensembles as Collegium Vocale Gent formations like (Belgium) and Los Músicos de Su Alteza (Spain) and collaborates with Cappella Amsterdam, Il Gardellino, Music Ficta, Capella de Ministrers, Capella de la Torre, La Capilla Real de Madrid, la Colombina, Conductus Ensemble, Ensemble Jacques Moderne (Director: Joël Suhubiette) and Max Reger Vereinigung. His repertoire ranges from medieval to contemporary music, with a special dedication to the German Romantic Lied.
José Pizarro works regularly with pianists David Aijón and Maria Gabrys, and has developed his concert schedule with orchestras such as the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla, Orquesta Sinfónica de Bilbao, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, and with conductors such as Luis Antonio González Marín, Pablo Heras-Casado, Philippe Herreweghe, Robert King, Daniel Reuss, Ben Parry, Andoni Sierra, Manuel Valdivieso, Josep Vicent and and Josep Vila, among others. |
