The English soprano, Lucy Prendergast, studied at Oxford High School for Girls (2007-2011), including
ABRSM Music Examinations in singing, clarinet and piano. She began her musical career with the Halle Youth Choir in Manchester under the direction of James Burton and subsequently progressed to the National Youth Choir. She graduated from the Trinity College, University of Cambridge (2011-2015) with an Upper Second Class BA Hons degree in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (Arabic). She held there a choral scholarship under Stephen Layton.
Lucy Prendergast has featured in recordings and solo performances across the UK, Europe, USA and Canada - notable highlights include an acclaimed live recording of Edward Elgar's The Dream of Gerontius with Sir Mark Elder, appearances at the London Proms directed by Daniel Barenboim, as well as multiple award winning recordings and performances with Trinity College Choir of Cambridge (Director: Stephen Layton). As part of the group The Four Sopranos, they have released a new musical tribute to HM The Queen as the longest reigning monarch in British history and the longest reigning female monarch in the world. With the voice of HM The Queen and accompanied by the Treorchy Male Choir and the London Studio Orchestra.
Lucy Prendergast has works as External Relations Intern at UNHCR in Jordan (July-September 2014); Administrative Assistant at The Anglo-Omani Society in London (August 2015-January 2016); Legal Assistant at American Music Rights Association (March-May 2016); Strategy and Communications Intern at Health Organization in Geneva Area, Switzerland (October-December 2016); Winter Vacation Scheme at Linklaters (December 2016). Given her wide range of academic and cultural interests, she has gained experience in a number of areas - all of which have attracted her to an international career. |
