The American mezzo-soprano, Bergen Price, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance and Music Education from Ithaca College (2018), while studying with Dr. Brad Hougham; and her Master of Music degree in Voice Performance and Literature from Eastman School of Music (2022), where she studied with Ruth Hennessy and Anthony Griffey. She also attended Prague Summer Nights Young Artists Festival (2018).
Bergen Price is a mezzo-soprano who has performed a diverse breadth of roles in the operatic and musical theater repertoire from George Frideric Handel, to Massenet, to Sondheim. Her versatility as a performer is apparent in the wide range of her collegiate roles, including Baker's Wife in Into the Woods (Eastman School of Music, 2022), Endimione in La Calisto (Eastman School of Music, 2022), Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd (Eastman School of Music, 2020), Prince Charmant in Cendrillon (Ithaca College, 2017), Annio in W.A. Mozart's La Clemenza di Tito (Ithaca College, 2017), and Ino (U/S) in G.F. Handel's Semele (Ithaca College, 2016).
Bergen Price is a frequent performer with choral ensembles such as the Eastman Chorale under the direction of Dr. William Weinert, and the Ithaca College Choir under the direction of Dr. Janet Galván. Performed works include the premiere of Dominick DiOrio's Solaris: A Choral Symphony in Three Movements in Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (2017), Benjamin Britten's War Requiem (Eastman School of Music, 2020), W.A. Mozart's Requiem, G.F. Handel's Messiah (Ithaca College, 2017), and Orff's Carmina Burana (Ithaca College, 2017). She also participated in Eastman School of Music: Bach Cantata Series (BWV 21, 2019)
Other performances include opera scenes in the Oskar Nedbal Theater Tábor, cabaret in the Reduta Jazz Club and a production of W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte in the prestigious Estates Theatre, through the Prague Summer Nights Young Artist Festival. |
